P/T MBA program...how is it viewed vs a FT program?

I'm in my 2nd yr at UofM Ross's evening MBA program. I decided to go the PT route b/c I cant afford to not work while in school...plus the income I would have given up would have been relatively substantial, especially last yr (I work for a mortgage company and last yr was a great year to be in mortgages). I will be done in the latter part of 2011.
My goal when I decided to pursue my MBA was to make a career change...I am focusing on finance and hope to break into sales/trading at a BB...preferably sales, since sales and sales management is what I have been doing for the last 9 yrs with my current company.
I'm curious to see if P/T MBA grads are viewed differently vs the FT folks. The make up of the P/T students is very different from the FT students...much more work experience, typically hold management positions, and of course older (mid 30's is the avg I believe). And the avg time to graduate for PT is 4.5 yrs (I will be done in 3).

All else being equal, will the fact the I was PT have any detriments or benefits from the perspective of potential employers??

Many program don't let P/T MBAs participate in OCR (which is typically for FT students). I don't know if thats how Ross does things, but if so, you're going to have a harder time landing interviews and will really have to network your ass off.

Really dumb question...what is OCR? From what i have heard, PT students have access to pretty much all the recruiting events and such that the FT ppl have access to. In fact, I've spoken to a couple PT people who are almost done, who quit their current jobs so they can actively recruit. I think the only area that PT cant participate in is recruiting for internships since its based on the bid system.

EDIT: OCR i assume to mean on campus recruiting..

Yes, OCR = On Campus Recruiting.

Like I said, I dont know how Ross does things so you may have open access to all job opportunities. My school allows P/T MBAs to attend the company presentation/networking events, but P/T cannot drop their resumes for most OCR positions.

I recommend you ask your Career Management Office if P/T MBAs have full access to OCR events, employers, and specifically access to the interviews.
