Unique question, Listing braille on resume languages
Some of you may look at this as a WTF thread, but I was curious, and I am very serious about this.
So when I was young, there was a strong likelihood that i would go blind, due to cancer. I learned braille i'd say from 1st grade through 5th grade. I can read and write it pretty flawlessly.
I know that a resume is supposed to exemplify what I can bring to potential employers, and braille is pretty meaningless in that sense, but I feel that I already have a powerful academic and leadership background in that I have some work and volunteering, and go to a top target(H/W)
So my goal is really to catch the eye of an employer, and perhaps make them look at my resume for an extra couple of seconds, because that's often all it takes. Braille stands out, and I could see an interviewer being curious and bringing it up, and that's the type of interview conversation I like to have.
I wouldn't mind getting some comments on this. And I would prefer serious posts as this is a serious issue.
(For those who don't know, braille is a reading and writing language for the blind. It deals with six raised bumps arranged in patterns.)
That would definitely get my attention and certainly is a talking point
Great addition to your resume and a great life experience, both to have survived and to discuss.
Can't add anything new, but it's definitely helpful, I would definitely give your resume a second look if I saw braille and would be very impressed with your resolve.
