Including web3 trading in your resume

Hi

Whats the consensus here?
The thing is my returns are good and I have even utilised more complex startegies rather than just making directional bets.
Also participated in multiple seed rounds, farmed airdrops, etc.
Should this be included in the resume with more explanation regarding the strategies/risk-management or leave it out cause everyone hates crypto still?
Thank you.

Hey there!

When it comes to including web3 trading on your resume, it's a bit of a balancing act. Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, here's what you might consider:

  • Relevance: If the job you're applying for is in the crypto space or requires similar skills, then including your web3 trading experience could be beneficial. It shows hands-on experience with emerging technologies and financial instruments.

  • Skills and Achievements: If you're going to include it, focus on the skills and achievements rather than just the activity itself. Risk management, analytical skills, and strategic planning are all valuable in finance roles.

  • Professionalism: Ensure that what you include can be framed in a professional context. If you've participated in seed rounds and farmed airdrops, it could demonstrate an understanding of early-stage investment and network participation rewards.

  • Perception: Be aware of the industry's perception of crypto. If the firm is conservative or has not shown interest in blockchain technology, they might not value this experience as much.

  • Explanation: If you decide to include it, be prepared to explain your strategies and risk management in a way that's understandable to someone who might not be familiar with crypto.

Remember, every detail on your resume should contribute to a narrative that you're the right fit for the role. If your web3 trading experience helps tell that story, then it could be worth including. Just be mindful of how it's presented and be ready to back it up with solid examples of your skills in action.

Hey there!

When it comes to including web3 trading on your resume, it's a bit of a balancing act. Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, here's what you might consider:

  1. Relevance: If the job you're applying for is in the crypto space or requires knowledge of alternative investments, including your web3 trading experience could be beneficial. It shows hands-on experience with emerging technologies and financial instruments.

  2. Skills Demonstrated: If you can tie the skills from your web3 trading to the job description – such as risk management, quantitative analysis, or strategic planning – it could strengthen your application.

  3. Professionalism: Ensure that you present your experience professionally. This means focusing on the analytical and strategic aspects of your trading rather than the speculative nature.

  4. Market Perception: Be aware of the market's perception of crypto. If you're applying to a traditional finance role, the hiring manager might not view crypto trading as relevant or favorable. It's important to gauge the company's culture and stance on crypto.

  5. Detail Level: If you decide to include it, be concise. Provide enough detail to demonstrate your knowledge and the complexity of your strategies, but avoid overwhelming the reader with jargon or excessive information.

Remember, every detail on your resume should serve the purpose of showcasing your qualifications for the role you want. If you can effectively connect your web3 experience to the skills and qualifications sought by employers, it could be a unique addition to your resume.

As for the "1" you mentioned, if you're referring to the previous context about including non-finance related jobs on a resume, the advice was to leave them off if you have other finance jobs, as they may not be relevant. However, if you've never had a finance job or internship before, it's better to include them than to look like you've never worked at all.
