Include Upcoming Internship or Not in Resume?

I was thinking of updating my resume and adding the upcoming co-op I'm gonna have. Would include the company name, the title "Incoming Private Equity Analyst", and the duration of the work.

But my co-op coordinator told me not to include my upcoming co-op in my resume cos it hasnt happened yet and she said resumes should reflect past and current experiences only, so I can put something in once I start working.

Thoughts?

Myself and everyone I know have always put our upcoming title, firm and a one liner stating “Scheduled to complete a X-week internship at a ___ asset manager/private equity firm/etc.

Under what section do you throw this into? Work Experience? Personal Information? One of those “Interests” or “Skills” throw ins at the bottom (for this case, you’d hypothetically make a new category for “incoming position” or something if the sort).
