Advice - Investment Banking

What’s up guys,

I was wondering if anyone who has gone through the recruitment process for internships at budge brackets or boutiques could give me advice on how to make my resume more appealing to recruiters. Thus far, I’ve worked about 4 jobs. Two of which are related to finance. The first was when I was working as a tax preparer and the second one was an internship with the financial department that managed my city’s budget (>$8B). Apart from that I’ve just volunteered at 2 places (no significant roles).

Also, if you happen to know, is it true that attending universities in the west coast significantly decreases your chances of breaking into the industry in New York? I’m asking because I’m about to transfer out and I’ve heard this a lot.

Thanks in advance for the advice!
