Hell yeah, my favorite topic: dissuading new grads from joining the meat grinder.
Short answer: NO!
Long Answer: It is a terrible place to start but if it's your only option it's still a terrible place but better than nothing I guess.
And here's a link to a similar thread: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/real-estate/matthews-real-estate-…;
The other comment is all you need lol
There are better brokerage shops that will offer you training and pay you a small salary or draw. Check out the other thread posted, this is like Marcus and Millichap Lite (not a good thing). They're seem to be everywhere but had not heard of them a year ago working in NYC and would 100% be a meat grinder where you're making hundreds of calls a week that realistically go no where. I did that at a small shop and it's a waste of your time.
A weird thing I have also seen in many B6 brokers have jumped to there and are obsessed with showing how good of a person the founder with these ridiculous posts and stories about how great he is and work hard for nothing and it'll payoff - meanwhile you hear about the COO of B6 who left was a terrible broker (based on past interviews out there and his own admission he was almost fired), yet he's preaching word hard and do whatever is needed selling young people looking to come into the industry.
lol first I’ve heard of B6
Someone mentioned how it is M&M Lite. M&M is a laughingstock and a stain on a resume. Nevertheless, in some cities their training program is highly regarded (go figure, being forced to make an obscene number of calls and have impossible to meet goals can lead to some results). Some get out of M&M onto better platforms, Matthews does not have that same (mediocre, at best) track record so be very wary
Lol yes true, go look at the guys who are at Marcus after 2-3 years and they all seem sketchy/slimy although some do make money. Not ideal and 100% sketchy, not the brightest people at the junior level in most markets.
If you like selling sub $3m duplexes and fast food chains, you'll love Matthews
