~$30 billion, < 5 yoe
That's a huge volume, what sector are you in and if REPE, how big are your funds?
What are your hours like out of interest?
Presumably you are either on the debt side, IB, or are at a MF doing opco/portfolio takedowns? Seems impossible to me you could have been meaningfully involved in that high of a volume of closed transactions in under 5 years otherwise.
Life co Equity investors and funds can do this volume. I did $800M of volume year 1 at a Life Co.
Could be at a pension/ other LP underwriting mainly funds
I would argue $ based deal volume is irrelevant as that could very well be one deal at a blackstone type platform. Many smaller transactions offers better experience with reps for negotiations, doc review, deal processing, general analysis, etc.
Totally irrelevant. I did 1.0+ billion in 3 years. My boss at my current firm did over 4 billion in 8 years. And it’s 5x less transactions. Just depends on firm and deal size etc.
Not a relevant metric. Somebody who has worked on say 10 deals valued over $1B in their first year is still very likely much less knowledgeable/effective than someone with 3 years of experience who has fewer closed transactions (assuming their shop is still looking at stuff and they're getting hands on with other areas of the business).
