Cradle-to-Grave roles in REPE
Curious if anyone is currently working in a company that offers roles that combine ACQ with AM.
I’ve seen some REPE firms have “investment associates” instead of breaking out acquisitions and asset management. Those seem so interesting and keep you from being silo’d in your career for the long-term.
Currently ~2 YOE in AM at MM mixed-use shop. Would love to dip my toes in Acquisitions and see a deal through, but I also really love the business plan execution side of things.
Also, if you are in that kind of role, how’s your team synergy? Do you feel like you’re much more picky with your acquisitions since you’ll now be the one who has to manage it?
I work on deals cradle-to-grave. Definitely keeps you on your toes and helps refine the selection and underwriting process.
Our team is very lean so we split new opps by product type, geography, and/or relationships. This can create siloes but not totally redundant like at larger shops.
