What PE Firms Should I Aim For?
1st year analyst considering deferring a year before doing on-cycle recruitment for PE.
UG: 4.0 at lower tier ivy in a major people considered hard and mid-tier BB (BAML, Barclays, Citi, CS) in good but not top industry group. Haven't taken GMAT. And Asian male if that matters since I heard it does.
Do I have a shot at MFs or is that pretty much exclusive to HYPWS 3.7+ kids? Is a 4.0 at a low tier ivy worse than a 3.7 at Harvard? I honestly have no idea what types of PE firms I should be realistically aiming for. Are my odds the best for UMM firms?
You have a shot. Don't stress. If you actually take the time to read the team pages of MFs and not just the swill on WSO, you will see they are filled with all kinds of scrubs in addition to the Harvard valedictorian crew team captain types that celebrated around here.
