Where would you rather live: Kabul, Caracas, or Lagos?
Title says it all
I'm long caracas be/c although I may have to bring a car trunk of cash to buy a snickers bar, vnzla girls are great
Short Kabul b/c im not a big ankle guy
can't WAIT for dumpfy to chime in
There used to be a Venezuelan place in the East Village NYC called Caracas that had great arepas. Unfortunately this location closed down, but if you have a chance to visit the other locations it is highly recommended. Or they have pick up / delivery.

this place is fuego and used to be open till 3am as well
Yeah so fire - I get hungry just thinking about those arepas mmmmmmmmm
Safety: Lagos wins. Kabul is a war zone, Caracas is the murder capital of the world, Lagos is just a regular 3rd world city.
Fun: Venezuela wins. Afghanistan has sharia law and so does part of Nigeria, although not the part where Lagos is.
Opportunity: Lagos wins. Kabul is a war zone once again, Caracas is suffering from hyperinflation, while Lagos has millions of people moving there for jobs and has a growing oil industry, financial sector, seaport, manufacturing sector, etc. Although I guess you could buy up Venezuelan assets if you're rich enough while they're dirt cheap and become an oligarch
Income: Lagos wins again. I know GDP per capita is a poor measure but, Venezuela: $1,541, Nigeria $2,432, Afghanistan $499 (!!!!)
Hhaha nice nice
honestly didn't know that about lagos..vry interesting
Funds buying in venezualan bonds: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-18/hedge-fund-bets-on-v…
Lagos easily. Been there and Caracas. Not living in Kabul for obvious reasons.
what took you to those places?
Dddddd
Definitely Lagos. I spent part of my childhood there bc of parents' jobs; from what I remember, the people were incredibly nice, and I loved the culture, though my experience consists only of living in a very sheltered area and attending a bourgeoisie international school
Caracas has thicc latinas, so there's that.
Not much longer with all the food shortages. I heard the average person lost like 20 something pounds
Even better
Having been to none of the three, I’ll take Lagos. Previous poster appears to hit the nail on the head that it is just a run of the mill third world city versus issues other cities have. While Lagos likely has its share of violence and property crime, the only one it’s notorious for is people mass emailing westerners for help getting their royal fortune out of the country.
Kabul - it is easier to murder there than it is to get booze or or pick up ladies so those are all strong negatives. With the taliban back in charge you can’t even listen to music without risking a flogging. You’re also more likely to be murdered before you can find drinkable booze or a lady for the night.
Caracas - you can likely find booze there in spite of likely supply chain issues brought on by hyper inflation. A previous poster also had positive things to say about Venezuelan ladies and I’ll defer to their judgment. There is still a elevated probability of getting kidnapped or murdered but at least if you’re kidnapped, money can get you out of it. The probabilities of mentioned above put Caracas into a clear #2 spot. One other thought; although diplomatic relations are fraught between the US and Venezuela, I believe we still have an embassy in Caracas or at the very least some kind of diplomatic relations. If we no longer ha e an embassy there, someone please correct my presumption.
The US embassy was suspended in 2019 when relations went bad and is still down as far as I know. The same thing happened in Russia so I'm trying to get my fiancé's case moved
This. I've also never been to any of the 3 (although I have been to Afghanistan), Lagos is the winner hands down. It's also the only place of the 3 where if you have enough money you can avoid the bullshit.
Kabul to send libs images of their rout. Allahu akhbar
The average person in the military is now a "lib"?
XDDDD
