First year out of college, worked at 2 companies that had <20 people so HR didn't do much besides handle payroll.

After that, been part of companies that have at least 1K people. I absolutely hated DEI / diversity crap. They were optional at all the places I've been but felt pressured to attend them in my summer internship since the majority of other interns joined those meetings.

I much prefer small company HR where they just handle payroll and basic onboarding.
