Keep Your Heads High

Obviously forum is all cluttered with fears about layoffs. At a time like this, it’s easy to get lost in it. Anxiety, fear, etc.

But also at times like this, perspective is a great things. First of all, if you’re on this niche finance forum, it’s safe to assume that you’re a hard worker and are driven to succeed. And you will. The markets and economy are completely out of your control. The minds of the bank/firm execs are out of your control, though this is a nice wake-up showing that they might not care about you as much as you think (letting someone know they’re gone by deactivating their keycard??)

Only worry about what you can control. Your attitude, the things you find joy in, etc. And if you unfortunately fall victim to things that are out of your control, remember that it’s only a small blip in your life and you WILL find a new role, maybe even a better one.

Heads high, kings.
