Finding a mentor
Hi all
I am a 1st year analyst at a boutique. I come from a non target with a family that isn’t connected to the industry at all.
I feel like a lot of people I know have either older siblings / connections in the industry. I have done all the coffee chats and met with various people but haven’t really got anybody senior to give me advice / is in my corner etc. I’ve met senior bankers and some I see every few months for a catch up.
Some people may say to model myself after my MDs but they are both approaching retirement and my firm is not somewhere I see long term. I’d love some advice on how people find a good mentor and somebody to learn from? Do you ever explicitly ask?
Thank you!
Bump
