Skipping graduating for FT

If we assume an offer is on the table. Would it be worth it to skip taking your bachelor (1 year left to get my bachelor) and just go FT instead? Would this severely hurt your long-term career in banking or if you want to go corporate much later in (like 10-year in the future)? This is in Europe

Thank you for your reply! Would it be difficult to find a job after I’ve spent a few years there? Like, does YoE weight up the lack of degree

I’ve spent +4 months on the bank so if I were to start, I know that it’ll work out kinda

No I think at the bare minimum you should finish your bachelor’s degree. How close are you to finishing? I know people who got a degree in England in under 3 years and my girlfriend just finished her bachelors program in California in less than three years as well.

If you can defer your start date one year or work part time, I would try to do that. Your company would simply be getting a more educated employee without paying extra. I’m not sure why they aren’t requiring you to finish when 99% of banks want you to have a degree. Maybe they are understaffed. Without a degree you would be screwed if you don’t stay in this job. Just my perspective on it, I don’t know Europe in depth but it seems that the masters degree is beginning to be seen as table stakes.

I did this with my MSc because it was either an immediate start or not getting converted from an internship.

Think it was the right move, but would not do this if you're still in bachelor's phase. Make sure you have at least a degree.

Thank you for your reply! Would you say that  years of banking experience can’t weigh up not having a degree in let’s say 5 years

I’m aware this rules out PE etc (although i know people who works PE without degree) but I don’t want to move to PE anyways. I just want to chill in banking for a few years and then get a calm corporate job

Hey there! Going full-time and skipping your final year of your bachelor's degree could seem appealing,  but it's also important to combine it with education. Getting your degree could give you a strong foundation and expand your prospects in the future. I think you should complete your degree first. Hope you take the right decision. Good luck mate!

Well yes but in this case I can land the finance job I want without a degree. I'm not gonna look to pivot to another finance-job later, would much rather join corporate. With that said, I see your point

Not getting your bachelors is an unequivocally horrible idea in this situation. Congrats on the offer! Tough out that last year
