London taxes
Hi guys,
Would appreciate it if something sheds light on how London taxes work
In short, I did a SA internship for 10 weeks where my salary was based on a 70k annual salary, now doing an 6-months off cycle internship where my salary is based on a 35k annual salary. Will not work again until July 2024
When I receive my net monthly payments, they are taxed as if I were earning these salaries on an annual basis. I was wondering if I am eligible for any tax refund and how do you usually proceed
Smart enough to get these jobs yet can't google how taxes work?

You need to change your tax code with the taxing authorities and when that is done you need to inform HR that your tax code has changed. Also if you too much in taxes now you’ll get a refund in the end
You'll get a refund. At the end of the tax year, contact HMRC (grab a book for the phone waiting time), and explain your situation. You will be refunded.
Holy cow, is off-cycle pay this bad ?
