Transfer from LDN to European regional office
Hey! I'm going this summer to LDN to IBD at an American BB. Would love to get a return offer for one of the regional offices in Europe where I'm from. Does anyone know whether that happens? If not, do you recommend applying for FT in the regional office? How different are exits in London vs regional offices anyways?
Also interested.
I know in my bank it’s a big no to be in a regional office unless you do country coverage in your junior years. So it will depend what you want to do, think most banks would be similar to this unless they have industry teams also in your country.
The IB teams there are much smaller and prioritize their own interns. You can ask HR if there would be any FT spots open, but depending on the BB this may jeopardize your original return offer (I know GS often pulls the original offer if you ask to move)
Agree with the above comment, unless you're in country coverage your exits will be better from London
stay in LN rather in Europe
European offices tend to have stronger headcount issues in this market, which is why a lot of EU interns at various banks (eg last year with GS, Bofa, Citi just to name a few) have gotten return offers directly to the London office. So have that in mind
