Toronto B5/B6 IB — Is It Over?

3rd year (at semi-target) going into 4th year (class of 2025) — GPA: 3.5/4.0. Tried for B6 during SA24 recruitment and wasn't able to get into many processes.

From networking calls and other people, I realized I was at a large disadvantage because of my GPA being on the lower end.

I got my technicals and behavioural together, did many mock interviews, polished myself up, and managed to get an off-cycle with a MM in Toronto (Cormark/SCP/Paradigm) and hope to return FT.

Assuming that I return FT, will my profile still be fine to lateral to B6 IB? Or will my GPA still be a hindrance for lateral recruitment?

It’s never over until you say it’s over. I have seen many stories from my friends and myself who have broken into IB and the Big five after undergrad. I know it doesn’t sound plausible reading this but you can do it. You decide it’s over - not someone else! Keep going my friend you’ll get there.
