Mentoring program application advice

Hi all, I'm an EU (extremely) non-target senior applying for the Mentors4U 2024 (25% acceptance rate circa) program. I'm fairly confident I'll be joining a European target MSc (not the UK) this fall. Keep in mind that I'm from a DEEPLY blue-collar and underprivileged background. I was wondering whether you had any experience with this in terms of how to structure an application strategy. I'm already ringing up former and current mentees. Sorry if I sound too improvised but I'd appreciate any insight.

PS I put this thread in here as this mentorship program is supposed to help students network themselves into the industry of their liking so I supposed I'd look for more IB-oriented advice.
