How do I become Sigma

I've been taking a look into the life-paths our WSO members, specifically the highly esteemed members (aka SIgmas) have taken, both during undergrad and post-grad, leading them to achieve the fabled Sigmaship. It's clear that banking and finance are the royal roads to such an elite status, where you get all the chicks, money, power, and freedom, but I'm super curious to hear everyones path.

Personally I have been mewing, jelking, munting, figging, and nothing has seemed to be working. I hit the gym thrice a week (chest, back/bis, legs), I use the towel method and chew mastique gum, but nothing has been seeming to get me an internship at a top Investment bank, I am not sure what is left for me to do.

Could the old-school traders, quant wizards, or even those chill beasts in corporate strategy share a glimpse into their mystical journey? Were there secret coffeechats, underground wine nights at Little Saint James, or even company bathroom ski trips that lead you all to become Sigma.

Please tell me your story and let me and many other aspiring Sigmas learn.

From,
Booch (Beta | Aspiring Sigma)

Good questions OP, but I’m not entirely sure anyone here is really qualified enough to advise you on this. Would recommend bringing it up in your next interview (to MDs and above) to really find the answers you’re looking for.

A few ways to exhibit Sigma demeanor include engaging in High-T activities such as the following:

  • Not flushing after shitting in a public bathroom
  • Picking on those weaker than you
  • Gaslighting chicks
  • Flexing on the haters

It is best to avoid Low-T activities such as:

  • Therapy
  • Cooking
  • Talking on the phone

  1. Refuse to do work that your seniors give you (power point and excel are for betas)

  2. Hook up with all the women in your analyst class (will help you establish a strong reputation in your firm)

  3. Do coke and prescription stimulants

  4. Talk over your MD in client meetings (your smarter than he is)

  5. Hook up with your MDs Wife/Daughter (establish dominance)
