Education Choices (Service Academy vs State University)

Im currently a senior in high school and Im getting ready to make college choices. Im deciding between Westpoint, Navy, USAFA, or the University of South Carolina in Columbia. If it seems like one of those choices didn't belong thats where my tough choice comes from.
The world of finance and especially Investment Banking interests me as a potential career option.I realize there is a list of "target schools" out there but I don't think I have the assets to go to those and I would guess a service academy would compare favorably. Basically are the service academies going to give me way more potential for a better job than University of South Carolina will? Because if Im not gonna be a lot better off Id rather just enjoy civilian college and go straight into the work force instead of putting in 5 years of service after graduation before I can even get a masters.
So 1)are service academies going to give me a huge edge over USC and 2) of the service academies which would be the best for a career in finance and specifically investment banking?

If you want to serve, then serve. If you have no interest in leading, serving, and challenging yourself in the military then save lots of people some trouble and go to USC. Plus you'll open up a spot for somebody who really wants to be there for the appropriate reasons.

You've not addressed either of the questions I've asked. For clarification it's not that I don't want to serve its just that I hate to be coming into the civilian work force for the first time when im 30 and my main goal is to have a successful civilian career

You've asked a very general question in whether academy + military service will prepare you for a successful civilian career - there are too many intangibles. Will it help? Probably. Will it get you into IB? Maybe, plus b-school. Is dedicating a minimum of 9+ yrs of your life the quickest, efficient way to get into IB? No. Which is why if all the military is to you is a means to IB, then you're in for a long, miserable 9 yrs of life.In fact the likelihood of you surviving or even standing out in training is minimal.
