Do Banks Give Laptops?
Incoming SA at a BB, wondering what the tech consensus is.
Also, what laptops would you guys recommend that are not too pricey in the meantime…I’ve had it with excel on Mac. Thanks!

For the record GS and MS do not provide laptops. You have a desktop in the office and you can remote access it through browser from home using your own device.
Same for Citi
Any recommendations on what to get. Was thinking a Dell XPS?
False
Get anything but a Dell, if possible. Thinkpad is the better way to go.
I'm currently typing this on the clunky / slow Dell that the firm had laying around. There's a five second lag every time I switch between workbooks. Would not recommend.
jpm also does not provide laptops. remote in via citrix
I thought my bank was just shitty for using desktops and making bankers use their own device when working remote. Friggin public companies are so damned cheap about everything.
Credit Suisse gave laptop allowance in pandemic.
No
Mine did. We got brand new Dell laptops, but they would freeze every so often. Bank did not want anybody doing most work related things on personal devices, with some exceptions
What laptops where they and overall how did you like them?
MS definitely give you laptops!!?
Does citi still give laptops for ibd
Any updates on this for JPM?
Work at JPM, only have desktops and remote login via citrix on your own device at home
Interesting - starting in the summer. What personal laptop do you use?
