Fund blew up, now stuck

Long story short folks:

My firm is a small platform recently got blown up and now winding down.

Even more suck is that I'm tied up with the firm sponsored visa, so now very likely have to leave the country.

Anyone has any thoughts on how to come back as a 27 yo guy who has a couple years of finance experience under his belt? Very likely I'm moving back to my country but really looking to have a sense of direction right now.

Would any of these hubs - Singpore/Hong Kong/Dubai/Amsterdam/etc. be a logical next destination for me? Still wanna do finance though, but tbh HF job security kinda suck.

If it hasn't happened you would be underestimate that kinda blow up scenario, once it happened you would feel stuck in a gaping pit.

Try to land a role at a global bank that has a large US presence and after a few years of establishing yourself, push for an internal transfer to the US.

I’ve seen some friends do that successfully.

Just curious if you know, didn’t the visa laws change recently? Did it go from a merit or education based system to a complete lottery?
