Hi all, I recently (and luckily) managed to get a chance to take part in the "Discover Citadel" program. Doesn't seem like a Spring Week like the UK people as it's only one day.
Seems to be mainly networking and all, but there's some programming/quant challenge. Was more interested/focused on the Investing/Equities side of the house, so not sure what I can even do lol...

Discover citadel is aimed at their quant side. Both from the quantitative side of the hedge fund and the market-making arm Citsec. Networking doesn't really do much, the event is largely just to raise interest in their SA programs for quant trading/dev roles.
The equities/investing side doesn't have a direct comp, there's CAP SA/FT but they aren't super focused on developing these schemes since they largely hire from other multimanagers, IB and ER. There is the GFI summer internship in LDN for global macro strategies.

Honestly don't even know what I'm going to be doing there as my experiences/indicated interest is in L/S public equities lol (and it's on my resume too. Nothing on it suggests a quant profile)... With nary any programming or quant knowledge, I think I'm just going to embarass myself there if Discover Citadel is targeted at quants. Checked in with the event hosters if there's going to be any "Investing" people there, because if not there's not much point in going too sadly :/
You should still go even if there aren't. Who knows, you might find trading interesting.
