What type of firm is this at? Large bank, asset manager, boutique?
Whether large firm or not, trade support for wealth management is going to be small retail trades, if you learn the process well enough I would try to move into trade support on an institutional desk, where you could get experience with more asset classes and get access to real traders. Then of course switching into a trading role is the ultimate goal. This job probably pays 40k, very operational, but could be a way to get your foot in the door.
Very ops oriented. Not too exciting. I don;t know if you could transition to an institutional desk.
