Hi all, I’m currently studying finance and management at a target uni and wanted to learn more about the asset management space. I’m curious if there are any guides or resources for this field for interview preparation or any industry primers?

IB prep materials will get you to understand technicals. Other than that, network a lot. AM folks tend to have more time to spare than IB folks so cold call should ideally be more receptive(?guessing). Learn about the funds you want to join and their investment philosophy and horizon. Cater your research to that, valuation is one thing but finding the right catalysts (more so on the business side than simple metrics like EBITDA/FCF/KPIs reaching certain levels) and your thesis around how that will play out is more important.
