Asset management firms in Dallas/Houston?

Hey everyone,

There are some incomplete lists on other threads, but I'm looking to see if anyone knows of some mutual funds, hedge funds, or other buy-side asset management firms in Dallas or Houston.

Ones that I can contribute:
Q Investments
Crestline Investors
Hudson Advisors (more private equity really than hedge)

This list is dated, but my objective was to land an internship in Asset Management in Texas, so here is what I found in my research. Note some of these are extremely small and some are more of a financial adviser.

Be creative. Linkedin is great. The basic pattern I followed was to find how the firm structured its email addresses, then find someone on linkedin that worked there in a role that I was interested in and then email them asking to talk on the phone. My success rate was about 1 in 5. Some I even went so far as to look up who registered the web domain to find how they structure their firms email addresses.

Some I reached out to on linkedin. But emailing them directly i had a much better response rate.

Be sure to bring something to the table that will make it worth their time. A good stock pitch worked for me as I was interested in equity research.
