Passing it is the first step toward getting licensed for roles like investment banking, sales & trading, asset management, and more.
Anyone pursuing a career in the securities industry must pass the SIE before registering for additional licensing exams like the Series 7, 63, 65, or 66. It’s required for students, career switchers, and entry-level finance professionals.
The SIE is 85 questions total (75 scored + 10 unscored). You have 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete it. A passing score is 70%.
