Fuqua MMS vs. LBS MiM for a Career in IB

Hello WSO Community,

I'm at a crossroads and would deeply appreciate your insights on choosing between Duke University's Fuqua School of Business MMS DKU (Master of Management Studies) and the London Business School's MiM (Master in Management) program. I've been admitted by both of them. As someone from mainland China, my post-graduation goal is to pursue a career in investment banking, with a strong preference for working in Hong Kong, though I'm open to opportunities in mainland China, UK and others as well.

My past internships have been predominantly with Tier 2 PE firms in mainland China, and I've noticed that a significant number of LBS MiM graduates secure positions in IB. This observation raises a few questions on my end:

  1. Between Fuqua's MMS and LBS's MiM, which program would better?
  2. Upon choosing either Fuqua or LBS, what steps should I take to effectively embark on a career in IB?

I'm keen on gathering your thoughts on how each program might support my ambitions, factoring in their respective networks, recruitment opportunities, and the potential leverage they could offer in the IB landscape of Hong Kong/Mainland China. Thanks for any comments.

If want to do investment banking in China - I will say honestly just pick the one has higher QS ranking. In China the school brand might still matter more than the program itself. Duke might have a higher chance due to alumni network?
