Spinning Duties on a Resume!

Okay so I'll be working on a derivatives desk this summer in Shanghai. My ultimate goal is to obtain a boutique IB internship next summer (summer after sophomore year).

Here are some of the things I'll be doing this summer:
-I'll be mainly working on some research projects such as hedge ratio calculations and margin account management
-Using Bloomberg terminal to download data from index futures market
-Using Excel/VBA/Matlab

I don't know much about the industry (I am here to learn right?), but figured anything finance related the summer after freshman year would be good.

My question is.. can any of these tasks be somewhat spun on a resume to seem somewhat relevant to banking and if not, are there any tasks I should ask and look for on a derivatives desk that could be somewhat relevant?

Any advice/opinions will be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

First, don't bump threads. It's annoying and a waste of our time. If someone had a constructive comment for you, it would have been provided already.

Second, get there, do some work, and post back with some substance about what you've done. Once you give us some real meat to work with then maybe we can help. Right now your question - while sincere in nature - is lacking any real information that those of us with experience can use to help you.

Third, for "spin" technique/words/resume tips you should post in the resume forum. (tip: do that once you've completed step two).

That is all.
