How to showcase incoming summer analyst on resume?

I'm going to be interning with a firm this summer (SA '24). Looking to update my resume with my new role for FT recruitment/some other opportunities.

Under the line that states "Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst," should I include a bullet point? I was thinking about including just one that says:

  • Generalist internship with an emphasis on sectors of technology, consumer retail, and healthcare.

The office I'll be at has three coverage groups, but the internship program is generalist across the three industries so that interns get exposure to all sectors. What is the proper way to say this? Should I even include a bullet point? Thx for help in advance.

Absolutely, you can include a bullet point under your incoming role to give a bit more detail about what you'll be doing. Here's how I'd phrase it:

  • Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst: Participating in a generalist program providing exposure to technology, consumer retail, and healthcare sectors.

This way, you're highlighting the breadth of your upcoming experience and the industries you'll be learning about. Remember, the goal is to give a snapshot of what you'll be doing without going into too much detail since you haven't started yet.

And hey, congrats on the role! Sounds like you're in for an exciting summer.
