Take Some Time to Smell the Roses…
Listen, mad props to everyone out there grinding to get their foot in the banking-door; I have a lot of respect for the hustle. However, albeit I’m new to this discussion board, I frequently see high schoolers and underclassmen accepting the perpetuated paradigm that “banking is life” and subsequently basing major life decisions off what gives them a 5% better chance at a good bank/group. I wanted to come on here and say this — there is so much more. I would give 2 limbs and my left testicle (fuck, maybe even both) to go back to undergrad. I miss the bars, my fraternity brothers, waking up at 10am, going to bed at 4am, the summer breaks, the sports/tailgates, etc. You have ~40 years to be in the workforce but only a few - in the grand scheme of things - to truly enjoy being young. I know it’s cliche, but money is temporary and regret is forever. I guarantee you I’d rather be out on a Friday night at 2am with my absolute boys worrying about which BB I’m going to get into than actually being at the bank crunching numbers. Take some time to smell the roses. Best of luck to everyone out there. Cheers.
