Thinking of moving job. Is it the right time?

MM ER associate at a tier 2 city, recently got a coverage, 1 year into my role. I am thinking of jumping ship to a BB or top-tier MM in NYC.

Market is tanking, but I see decent opportunities popping out and recruiters are still contacting me for interesting gigs.

I may miss my bonus this year (my current firm pays it around Nov), but I doubt if they will pay anything like last year. My current base is under street average and I currently work at a tier 2 city (non-NYC or SF). Would it make sense for me to lateral now? What are the odds of me getting fired? I hear VPs and MDs get fired if market crashes, but haven't heard Associates getting fired too much.

Is Europe safer than the US? I am also considering London, but salary seems pretty low compare to even tier 2 US cities.

If shit hits the fan, would it be better staying at my current role?
