Long Only HY Credit Comp

Hi All - have an offer for a long only HY credit AM. They are the AM arm of a large insurance company. What does upward comp progression look like at these firms?

I received comp of $180K all in cash for 3 years experience. What does HY credit analyst comp look for someone with 5, 8, 10, and 15, 15+ years of experience?

Probably largely depends on the type of firm and size of said firm. More index chasers and insurance types usually paying on the lower end. Stronger track record more differentiated mangers with good aums paying more. Comp also usually plateaus once you hit that 7-10+ years of experience unless you're being promoted to PM or some fancy title like head of research. Thus the pay bands will vary. I'd say lose estimates would be something like firms in 350-500k range, others in the 450-650k range, and others in the 550-750k+ range. If you become a PM or have a head of research type title maybe you can get into the 1mm+ category, but this is the exception not the rule. My point on the bands though is that its not normalized across the industry, its very firm specific and what kinda pay band your firm falls into. Comp is somewhat a mystery so this is just my impression from my seat, talking to friends at other firms and recruiters.

Ignore user title. Also 3 years of experience but approaching 300k at a large HY/LL LO. I’m pretty sure comp at an insurer has a significant haircut as yours is
