Switching Industry: FMCG to Healthcare/Pharmaceutical
Just graduated 1 year back, and I'm currently finishing my first year in corporate finance in a leading FMCG company (think P&G/Unilever/Nestle/Pepsi/etc.). I'm considering a move to a leading healthcare company (think Novartis/Pfizer/J&J/GSK/etc.).
I'm doing mostly FP&A (e.g. Business partnering sales team) and projects (e.g. simplification of reports, etc.). Thus far, work is kind of interesting, although not something that I will work for without salary. My reason for moving is to explore the Healthcare industry (which I've heard much good things in this forum for the corporate finance function (e.g. "specialized knowledge"), and also possibly interest). Further, I felt that the Healthcare industry may suit my personality more (I don't have the 'sales&marketing' outgoing type of personality.. but I'm not on the other end of the spectrum too). I'm based in Asia.
Is there anything that I should take note of? Like, is it unwise to make such a move? Thanks!
