Driving Safety After IB Workday

Hi,

I'm asking this for a friend working outside NYC / London who has to drive to the job. I have read some articles comparing driving drunk vs. sleepy and how the latter is equally as dangerous as the former. Because he's located outside NYC & London, taking the subway or tube in the morning & cab back at night is not an option. How do any of you commuters deal with the drive back at night (or morning)? What do you do when you're really on the verge of passing out? Unfortunately my friend is about ~40 minutes away from his job, so I would really appreciate any advice here..

Thanks!

Pay: IBD v. S&T v. ER v. AM/PWM/IM v. PE/HF v. Big4

Curious about how the pay compares across the different divisions.. It would be great if you can post some specific numbers.
I'm specifically interested in the first-year figures out of undergrad.

Thanks in advance.

Comfortable Shoes - Women

The Comfortable Shoes (for men, obviously) thread from last summer came up on active topics and I figured I should start one for the female users (yea like all 20 of them) that are on this forum. So as flats have gotten increasingly popular over the past years, I'm sure many of us do not master the art of walking in non-flat shoes. As a prospective, I have two questions..

Is "Passion for Finance" Enough?

What do/did ya'll answer when asked "why finance/IBD/S&T"?

I'm really interested in the markets (no shit), but other than that, there's nothing too fancy or unique. (No, when I was 8 years old, I did not play some stock market simulation game and fell passionately in love since then, etc.) So is there anyway to come across as convincing with just that? Any suggestions on how to dress it up?

Contacting Alums & Still no SA position

The kid who called his interviewer (who used to work) at Bear Stearns made it onto DealBreaker. Now I'm scared to contact alums & other contacts at firms about getting a SA position. Any insights?

I'm referring to contacts at all kinds of (PWM, IM, funds.. anything) financial services firms btw.

Thanks.

I dinged myself (I think.)

Long story short: I withdrew my application to a bank because I was having some technical difficulty. I thought withdrawing and "restarting" the process would allow me to fix the problem. (Idiotic Mistake Revealed on WSO #2.)

I applied to this bank through my career services website (resume drop). Students are asked to also apply online.

1. Which banks use Bloomberg? Is there anyway to find a list of its customers?

2. Which colleges/b-schools have Bloomberg on campus? (Please comment if your school has the terminals.) Any way to find a list of school?

Recently I started to network and set up an appointment to meet a family friend who works at a BB around noon today. (Think VP/Director level.) His family has had a good impression of me and then..
I overslept. The next thing I know my dad was waking me up and it was ~5PM.

Cheesy Stories, Please.

So what has sparked your interest in the financial services industry?
Note: Not a specific "why ibanking/s&t" question. I already used the search feature on those. I'm looking for good cheesy ones such as "when I played the stock market game in 7th grade......"

Thanks and looking forward to the replies!
