Best clubs/bars in London

(in no particular order)

- Infernos, Clapham
Filled with recent graduates, and in truth pretty much like being a student again but slighlty more expensive. Good option to meet relatively normal twenty-somethings, but sweaty and very alcohol-fuelled.

- Abacus, Bank
Typical post-work Thursday hang-out for city boys. Bad: lots of men in suits. Good: the few women that turn up are easy.

- Movida, Mayfair
Uber trendy, expensive, with lots of celebs. Lots of nice ladies, but too many rich/famous blokes to feel special.

- Cross Keys Wetherspoons, Bank
£5.99 for a curry, rice, naan, popadoms, mango chutney and a pint on Thursdays... can it be beaten?

Anyone else have any gems?

How to stop the next bubble (Roundtable with Soros, Kaletsky, John Gieve, etc...)

JONATHAN FORD (CHAIR): I want to start by asking where we are in the crisis. Is it over? George Soros, you have said that this is the worst crisis we have been through for 60 years. Presumably you still believe that there is worse to come?

Best Office Pranks

Simple but fun. When you are at fellow analysts laptop hit Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow Key

Funny watching them google the shortcut to undo it with head tilted upside down.

Why does Jefferies have such a bad reputation in US?

From reading WSO it seems like Jefferies is regarded badly and pays below street, although in London they are seen as an elite boutique that pays well above average for analysts?

I heard last year was around £35k base, £5/6 sign on, and up to 150% bonus (£52,500?) = £92,500 or $185,000.

Got info from guy who was interning there at the time.

Anyone explain why this would be different to the states? They do same mid-market size deals over here.
