(My apologies if this is the 2nd time you are receiving the Fall 2007 newsletter)

A lot has changed since the last newsletter. The most obvious is the name of our community... iBankingOasis.com is now WallStreetOasis.com. New Links Section

Check out our new Links section which has various subcategories to help you navigate to useful sites across the web including:
- Other Finance Blogs
- Training Sites
- Recruiters...and more

If you want to Add a Link, you can do so in about 20 seconds by clicking on the Add Your Link! block in the upper right hand corner. Once a moderator approves it, the link will be live.

Recent Posts Tool
"The Recent Posts" tool in the yellow navigation bar will soon allow you to track all recent posts by forum, by author and by type of post. It is great way to quickly search through what members are currently discussing.

Archives Tool
Want to check back and see what members were saying last year about bonuses? The archive tool in the yellow navigation bar is an easy way to look back through the database of knowledge that has been collected over the past 1.5 years.

"Track" Other Members
Does a particular monkey give good advice? Not only will you be able to sort posts by author/user in the Recent Posts, but you can already track all of a user's posts by clicking on that user's name and clicking the "Track" tab.

My blog
Have something to say? Want to develop a following like Bankerella (you can see a lot of her great posts in the Forum of Fame at http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/forumoffame)? ...
Well then say it! Start your own blog on WallStreetOasis.com for all of your fellow monkeys to enjoy. It's already set up for you. Just click on "My blog" in the upper left hand corner in your user block and start typing away. I will make my best effort to promote any entries to the front page of the site that are entertaining / useful. Other users can easily use RSS to subscribe to your blog so they know when you've posted something new.

RSS
Speaking of RSS, you can now subscribe to various areas of the site quickly and easily through RSS - get notified immediately when a member posts a topic under your favorite forum or when your favorite user posts a new blog entry. You'll also now notice that if you find a particular thread or topic useful, you can e-mail that thread to any friend you want straight from the site.

COMING SOON

I feel like I've been promising these forever, but here it goes.

1. Certification / Verification Tag - ie, provide some sort of verification that allows users to become a "Certified Member of WSO" by providing a work e-mail and username. I am still working through how to "tag" users graphically so it will be easy to tell who is certified (ie, who is out of school vs. in the industry)

2. More video content. A short video blog delving into some of the more controversial topics discussed on the board will hopefully get launched in the coming months.

3. Contests - keep collecting bananas by Inviting Friends (10 each invite that registers!) because they could be worth something one day if I ever get around to creating a fun contest.

4. The Store has new WSO apparel you can show off in your cube when you come into the office on the weekends. Release your inner monkey!

5. Many other features in the works to make your experience better and the community stronger.

Please keep making suggestions in the Site Suggestions Forum -- I am dedicated to making this site the most entertaining and useful community for finance professionals. I want to thank you for your patience and support throughout this upgrade process. Luckily, I will now be able to provide you with a lot more interactive, entertaining and useful features in the future.

Stay Strong,
Patrick
