Roomate Anyone?

This is for those of us heading toward 60-100 hrs of slave labor living in another City. I am think about roomate with another IBD or live alone!Personally i am interested in opinion on HK, but samething for NY. I heard two arguments

  1. Roommie - Having roomate allows for better enviornment as you guys can help each other out!

  2. Alone - No point as you will only sleep there anyways, and no one to piss you off when you are stressed!

what is your take! or what has been your expereince!

btw - how did you find your roomate if you have one?

I'd recommend a roommate. You'll crave human interaction outside of work. You have two choices:

1.) Room with another analyst - Pros: He'll understand your schedule, share your interests, share your pains - Cons: You'll never get a break from banking talk and banking people

2.) Room with someone that does something else - Pros: Get a break from banker talk, use him to get connected to interesting people outside of banking - Cons: May get pissed off if you perpetually come in late, "just won't understand" when you complain about work, will complain himself that he had to work 'til 6pm, etc. Also sometimes will not be able to afford the same things as you will

Your call.

the last thing you need when you finish a long, pain in the ass day is another person getting on your last nerve. Live alone to start, when you finally find a balance find a hottie and move on with your life....

do you get easily pissed off? Do you value your own space? Do you not like to compromise on watching sport on tv? Remember, everything becomes magnified when you're constantly tired and pissed off, which you will be when you're working. If you answered yes, then peace of mind when you walk in your door may be worth it. If you're pretty chilled and want to save some cash/get a better flat then find a roommate.
