Hi all, first year student at a UK target uni here. Very interested in IB.
What are your thought on PWP in London? How well do they perform in Europe and which teams are the strongest? Any thoughts on their future? How do they compare to other bbs and ebs?
That’s a pretty wrong take, HC runs over NY and not London I heard, Industrials and TMT are the strongest in LDN and deal flow wise it’s a completely different approach to Lazard and Roth who work on many MM deals while PWP only focuses on large deals
Have access to Bloomberg and MM atm, 3 out 5 deals under 300 million last year and 2 out of 3 under 250 million the year before. PWP don't do mega deals in London

Healthcare and Industrial are the two top teams.
Not as strong as in the US, way below when it comes to deal flow compared to Rothschild and Lazard.
Overall, decent firm but would never pick over BB
Thanks! Why do quite a few people go from different bbs to ebs like PWP (at the junior level)? I've seen that on LinkedIn quite a bit
Pay increase and leaner teams so more responsibility off the bat.
When you’ll start working, you’ll realize that not everything is about ”prestige”

Focus seems to be germany and industrials although they’re also trying to build out their tmt and fig businesses; don’t know much about healthcare
Thanks! Do you think people who speak German have an advantage or is it fine if you don’t?
It’s an advantage to speak German from what I’ve heard from analysts/associates
Also france
Me and some future colleagues chose PWP over mid-level BBs (not GS/JP/MS). It's not an obvious decision imho.
