So it looks like most of my interviews for an SA posting are in MBS/ABS, and the first rounds I've had have all be fit-based. Since securitized products are so different from the rest of IB, does anyone know what technicals you'd be expected to know? I would assume relevant parts of the securities themselves (credit enhancement, etc) and the underlying assets, but those aren't technicals in the classic sense of the term.
