Lunch with M&A analyst and LBO training.

So I was lucky enough to get a lunch with an analyst. Anything I could ask him to possibly turn it into an internship? Earlier in the day he'll be teaching me and four other potential summer analysts how to make an LBO model. Will this look god on my resume to boost my chances of getting an internship? I'm currently a sophomore at a non-target and I'm one of 5 from my ibank club to get this opportunity, the other four are juniors.

So what can this all yield?

Wow, since when did lunch with an ANALYST become a big deal...

No, you probably should not put down on your resume that an analyst taught you how to do a LBO model over lunch. The best you can possibly do is impress him and ask him for a contact or someone you can talk to in his group. And impressing an analyst is different from impressing an MD, you gotta show him that you're a cool/normal person and someone he would want in his group. Having gone through the process himself, he knows how the game is played so keep that in mind.

I would just ask the guy questions relating to stuff you want to know, he's going to know that you want him as a 'contact' already.

he'll give you his business card and email address if you're lucky.

don't kiss too much ass, and open bribe would work better and seem more genuine. do it in front of the other 4 students with you.

Thanks for the advice. And for the record, he's not teaching us the LBO model over lunch, but he's meeting with us earlier in the day to go over it. Probably an hour to two. Think that'll be enough time to fully learn one?

Take what you can get and run with it. Btw, can someone PLEASE tell me what exactly an undergrad ibanking club does?!? Asked this question many times, never got an answer...
