How do I find a sophomore summer internship this late in the year?
How do I approach something this late? Do I ask straight up for the internship when reaching out, or do I still go through the networking dance and ask to meet up or have a call? I'm getting a little desperate. I think I can find a search fund role, but I'm not sure that's strong enough work experience. Where do I go from here? Maybe asset management? I don't have a lot of the coursework required to get a finance role. I have 1 previous banking internship freshman-sophomore year, but it was in China and kind of BS. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I think you can be straight up and say you were looking to gain finance experience in whatever type firm you are applying to and ask if they had anytime to speak about their experience at the firm. Just make sure you don't use that approach for any firm you'd want to interview at for Junior year.
