Don't get an MSF if you want IB

MSF programs are very useful for adding finance knowledge for non-business majors/extreme non-targets with shit finance curriculum/internationals who feel like spending 70k on grad school for no reason. It is equivalent to delaying graduation at a semi-target. This is helpful if you ACTUALLY network/hustle for finance jobs & internships. The problem is most NYC bb banks have close to zero FT slots available and will most likely go to people who already have a FT offer from their Sa & are looking to move up. Not to mention the shady bullshit that is MSF placement stats. Outside of the normal big hitters (MIT/Vandy/etc.) the other non-top 5 msf programs are horrible if you want IB. @TNA" obviously defends NOVA like an ivy and has still failed to create a MSF rankings that he has promised for over 1 year on MSFHQ.com

Moral of the story: Don't get a MSF if you think an ib job will fall on your lap, don't expect a top job if you don't go to a top 5 program, think twice about getting a grad degree that is far less common than B-school.

Isn't this common knowledge? MSF's are only helpful in the US if you already have the relevant background, and need to re-brand yourself/gain access to a greater network & a second chance at recruiting.

This also isn't true for Europe. Masters are way more common there, and many people land a BB/EB spot through target programs like LSE/Oxbridge.

To infinity... and beyond!

It is yet people try to convince themselves that they can get BB IB from a program like Rochester or Nova with a 3.2 gpa, 700 gmat, no relevant internships, etc. because they think getting in IB is just a matter of the right mindset. @TNA" gives them more kool-aid by saying "he can get any ib job he wants if he hustles hard enough."

Typical shitty ad-com bullshit. Don't even get me started on his idea that msf programs should give placement data in terms of INTERVIEWS and not actual job placement.

What is this shit? I literally don’t give a fuck about Nova.

A ranking is difficult. Please feel free to create one if you feel so inclined.

You don't give a fuck about Nova? I find that extremely hard to believe given how you hype it up like it is a top 10 school.

You won't make an MSF ranking because you know people will call you out for putting Nova in the top 3.

I reiterate, why would I care where nova lands.

The school places into IB, not everyon gets it. You’re clearly salty. Take it up with the mirror or career office.
