Damage control - what to do?

Hello guys,

Let me start by introducing myself a little bit. I'm a 20 year old third year student of Business Economics (BSc) and second year International Law (LLB) student at an university in the Netherlands. In my first year things went pretty well. Not super good, but not too bad either. My grades averaged at a 7.0-7.5 out of 10, which would convert to around a 2:1 in the UK. I was only studying Business Economics at that time. In my second year I picked up internatinonal law (so, double mayor) and things went pretty downhill. My averages grade for Business Economics at this moment is around 6.8/10 (between 2:1 and 2:2) and my average grade for my law courses is 6.7/10 (2:1). As you guys can see this is not even enough to make the soft cutoff.

I haven't got any internship experience but I have worked a full-time summer job for the past two years as an administrative assistant for a mayor production company. I did some Excel work there but it was nothing too big. I'm also organizing academic events for my local student association.

Now I'm at the point that I don't really know what to do anymore in order to break into investment banking. I pretty much get rejected for every internship I apply to and I'm also not getting accepted for gigs like the London Banking Tour. I feel that I have screwed it up too badly to be able to fix it. Some things I've thought up I could be doing would be going to summer school next year. Besides that, in The Netherlands it is pretty common that after ones bachelor degree one pursues a master degree (MSc/LLM). How are those two degrees valued in terms of recruitment? Would the bachelors grade be considered separately from the masters grade or how does that work? If it would be looked upon separately that would mean my masters degree would kind of give me a fresh start.

Any more suggestions, thoughts, comments on what I can do best to improve my chances??

Thanks in advance,

Aethereal
