BC IBA
What are the thoughts about it on the street? I know its no IBW, but they seem to place at least 20-30 kids at BB/EBs. Do you need to be in it to get IB at BC?

Career Resources
Not necessary but definitely helps a lot, as IBA has exclusive events with top tier banks, rigorous interview prep, and many other resources that BC as a whole isn’t great at providing. That being said, plenty of people go into IB without IBA, but it’s a phenomenal resource if you’re accepted (and have the time for the commitment).
IBA is definitely super helpful for the recruiting process. Almost everyone in the club places at a BB/EB/Good MM bank. But as the poster above said, it definitely isn't necessary to get into IB (probably 60-70% of IB placement at BC is from IBA, and 30-40% is from people outside the club).

IBA historically places ~95% of their cohort into BB/EB/MM IB. Best relationships with Citi, RBC, UBS, Barclays, Goldman, DB, PWP, Moelis, Lazard and Evercore (Typically ~5+ to each BB mentioned, from BC not IBA specifically). The clubs application process is competitive and is largely determined by GPA (aim 3.75+).
BC's IBA program is very strong and only getting stronger as street presence grows. The club is difficult to get in to (~25% acceptance rate); they look for high GPA and extracurriculars. They place about 30-35 kids at top BB/EB/MM firms. BC has strong presence at Barclays, Citi, RBC, UBS, DB, Moelis (Boston), PWP. They will even send 4-5 to GS and a couple to Evercore. IBA hosts exclusive events will the banks listed above and do intense technical and behavioral prep.
As far as getting in to IB without IBA, it's definitely possible, just have to do a lot of work on your own. BC alum at every bank willing to help but IBA on resume is advantage.
Hmm as someone who goes to a target and has never gone through a group/club in order to land interviews, how exactly does this organization know who to pick? Are there interviews/essays you have to write? Or is it just based on GPA/EC
Interview, resume, and largely GPA
No, definitely do not need to be in the club. I was in the club and know dozens of kids my year that landed offers on their own
