AEM doesn't have a math concentration. You can double major in CALS AEM and A&S Math.

Recruiting isn't too bad. I know a thin 3.0, i.e. a 2.9er or so, who secured DB CDS trading. I also know a solid 3.8 who basically walked into GS S&T sleeping.

I know a 4.0 AEM junior who interviewed at all BBs minus GS (but plus Blackstone) for a summer internship. He didn't get any offers at the end. Sounds like cliche and you already know this, but this just shows that while the recruiting process itself is very solid, it's really up to the individual (that is, interviewing skills). It goes for any school.

My little brother is actually trying to transfer into Cornell.

50% transfer rate into ILR

12% transfer rate into AEM

His stats are very good, but he comes from a CC so he's wondering if he should try for AEM or be safe with ILR. Do you really have a big advantage in AEM?

Thanks.

AEM is better than ILR in my opinion, the classes are more catered to finance rather than law.

Also, econ majors do fairly well, as does operations research engineering when it comes to the ib selection process.

I'm working mid office at a BB for a summer internship right now, but I hope that will be enough to put me in the front office for next semester when it actually counts.

sammy101, he's working in NYC in the public sector (government agency). Turns out he's not going for FT recruiting next year but is applying for law school instead.

I agree that AEM is still more practical for IB than ILR.

you should try to get into one of the business fraternities. It helps a tremendous amount both with alumni contacts and preperation for interviews. They are both essentially the same but are very competitive.
