About working condition in Big4 (M&A) Madrid

I'm on the side to apply to different firms. I know that probably Big4 is the easiest way to break into the industry in M&A as an intern, but, If you have an offer to PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, and EY (with similar salary), what firm would you choose? And why?

So, you said that it's quite difficult to jump from Big4 to IB firm, right? Could be, but many people said me that interns/juniors learn how to work with a grand volume of work, so that would be valuable to other firms

Getting experience as an intern and then jumping boat is something much more usual than, being for example 2 years at Deloitte M&A and going to IB

It is very valuable actually and gives you an edge over those who had no real experiences, I was focusing more on those who enter as analysts and are willing to move, that the jump is harder as most banks prefer candidates from other BB/EB/MMs and if you get the chance to enter you may lose your whole seniority

I think all four firms will offer you a good experience. In terms of culture, pay and brand name etc. I find that the Big4 firms are all pretty similar. Purely looking at the M&A league tables of Spain I would choose PwC. It has the highest deal count of the four, and also ranks the highest in terms of deal value.

Of course the best thing to do would be talking to employees to get an idea of what it’s like working for these firms. But if that’s not possible, league tables at least give some information regarding deal flow.

Spanish here. I would suggest KPMG. Bigger reputation and stronger presence as well. Dynamic environment (they have recently created a Capital Markets division) and great size of deals. Besides, if you are applying for Graduate positions, EY has a good program for M&A (I think it is called Parthenon).

Yes, I'm applying to graduate programs. At the moment, anyone replied to me but I will enroll in an MSc in CUNEF where I know that I will have the opportunity in any Big4. However, I think (in M&A) the most difficult as an intern position is PwC because they don't get interns in that division. Deilotte too, I think.

About Parthenon. I was searching on Google and I looked that is about strategy consulting and they haven't launched the program in Spain
