Transfer

Accepted into Brown as a transfer. Interested in consulting (MBB) in the northeast/west coast/internationally after college, then MBA and tech VC (NYC, Boston, SF, London).

For MBB consulting in the northeast/west coast/internationally, who would make the most competitive applicant? An extremely involved target-school econ student in the honors program or an econ-math transfer student at Brown?

Recently went through Growth recruiting and landed offers at a couple top firms (also had an almost identical transfer situation), so I’ve got a fresh perspective on this. Your answer is Brown. Have seen quite a few kids from Brown get/accept offers at the best places, but Vandy representation is low for such a great school. (This is anecdotal evidence, correct me if I’m wrong.) The counter is that not many Vandy kids recruit Growth/VC, but when there are so few seats, the volume argument becomes moot. Also, for what it’s worth, I didn’t anticipate how much easier it was going to be recruiting from an Ivy over a target non-Ivy. You’ll do great either way.
