Boeing Vs. Airbus

Aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, challenged its rival Airbus at the Paris Airshow with its new 737 MAX 10, a larger version of its 737. Easily beating out Airbus in terms of sales on its first day at the event, Boeing is focused on cost efficiency. This is at a time where budget airlines are becoming so prominent in the industry.

It is stated the single-aisle aircraft market will be worth $6 billion over the next 20 years with 40,000 planes needed to cover increased air travel demands and replacements of aircrafts. However, even though Boeing is getting their jets to customers faster, Airbus' orders for its rival aircraft are toppling Boeing by over 3 to 1.

  • What do you think the impact will be on each company's stock over the next few days?
  • Will one company come out on top? Does Boeing's focus on low cost give it a competitive advantage or could it potentially hurt them?
