London Rent Sense Check
Hi monkeys,
Incoming An1 at MM bank in London this year.
Salary: £70k
Monthly post-tax with student loan: £3,943
Is paying £1.3k/pcm too much for sharing with three others in Zone 1? Includes ensuite if that matters.
Was thinking about saving c. £1.5k per month, is it ridiculous to do bills and expenses for c.£1k?
Looks good.
.
Looks good. Similar situation here. My base is 70k and my net salary after tax and loans is 3.8k
I will be paying 1.2k pcm for rent and flat sharing with other 2 people.
Ive spoken with fellow analysts and their average rent is c. 1.5k-1.6k pcm, although they do not have student loans
I am aiming to save c.1k per month
Not ridiculous to spend 1k on food and bills. Food should be c.400 per month, transport 100, house bills and council tax 150, phone 20, gym/grooming/wellbeing 100. Thats over 750 on "essentials" only, and still havent accounted for eating out/going out/girlfriend, etc
boy, I hope the girlfriend materialises for me...
Jokes aside, useful- thank you
Incoming A1. Spending 1.4k pcm but walking distance to work
Is this in Canary Wharf?
Nope in the city
Bump
My rent is £1.8k but it’s a studio. Have managed to save about £7k and I’m 3 and a half months in so this is definitely feasible.
Would you mind sharing your rough budget?
1.8k for a studio is crazy, I’m living in a one bed for 1.7k and in a nice area
